Do you already have the 760? That card alone goes for $230 leaving only $70 for the rest of the system, and for $70 you won't be able to build the rest of the system.

For gaming I wouldnt go under a budget of 500$ so you may want to look into laptops with good a graphic card.

I personally wouldn't go under $700 for gaming (But I'm in Canada). Laptops with good GPUs cost >$1000/ This guy is obviously trolling

If you're playing BF4 tough luck then :/  But WoW should be okay. Can you spare $400? Do you need the OS, Optical drive? Do you already have a GPU? There's no way you're getting a 760 in a $300 build.

A good rule of thumb is that a laptop with its mobile hardware will give you about half the performance, maybe a little more, than a similarly priced desktop system. A similarly priced laptop will not net you similar performance. At under $500, you're not going to get a mobile system that can be effectively used for gaming; if that's what you want, then you'll be looking at the $900-$1000 mark.

On that note, I'd recommend that the OP keep saving up money until a $500 system is affordable... that's generally a good 'minimum' budget. You can have a system built for less, but it wouldn't last terribly long and would potentially be very hard to upgrade in the future due ontop of that. Instead of constantly upgrading over time, it would be a lot better to buy a better system to begin with.

Yes... i failed, super low budget student gaming build!
But budget is ridiculous for a gaming build. Try checking for 'used' parts on Amazon, their A-Z policy is great, can trust second hand parts from there with amazon protection

Question : Do you need to buy the OS? Might as well buy a dell PC if that $300 includes the OS ...

It looks like everyone on here has already come to the consensus that the budget is just plain ridiculous. Even if the budget did not include the OS, it is just not worth trying to build a gaming PC for that amount. You would get a PC that could handle lower end games and play some games at low settings 720p and lower fps...but that is not an enjoyable experience...and nowhere near the settings the OP is expecting.

And going for such a low budget would cause easy upgrades impractical. For upgrades, many components would have to be replaced, such as the PSU definitely would have to be, and the motherboard would possibly have to be replaced also...depending on the total RAM supported, overclocking ability if that mattered, and of course the socket used for the CPU, along with the possibility of having to replace the CPU for a more powerful one...and the GPU also. Which just comes to building another PC and having a bunch of useless components. And of course accounts for a waste of money and time.

You get three choices with that budget...either save and build something that is overall worthwhile and needing fewer upgrades/part replacements later on, buy a pre-built and deal with upgrading later on if you can, or just build a PC and deal with having to replace the parts or get the best you can for the money now. If the OS is supposed to be included in that $300 budget, then you would be much better off buying a pre-built...if not, or if you plan on using Steam OS, other Linux based OS, or have a copy of Windows already, then build whatever you can now.

Building something now I would recommend either go with AMD AM3+ or Intel LGA 1150 to allow upgrades later on. Also a dual RAM slot motherboard and 8 GB of RAM, unless a quad RAM slotted motherboard is in the price range. I would not go for the ability to overclock with Intel motherboard, in order to save money there too.

I'd say PC gaming isn't something you want to get into unless you're willing to spend a semi-substantial amount of money.
