I am starting a project of building a computer into a glass desk :). Regardless of the desk fans space ect i need some help on the actual part list. This is just a quick draft i threw together on pcpart picker. What do you think? i was hoping the build could stay as cheap as possible but without compromising performance or look. I dont need a OS or monitors, keyboard, mouse, ect. Any suggestions, comments? Also just a side note that ill be throwing on some nice watercooled systems with the colors and all that jazz to make this thing shine.

You don't need a sound card for any mobo released in the last 2 years.

You only need a 700W psu for 2 x 760's. eg Seasonic M12II 750 $95 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151107

Two 760's would run as well as a GTX 780 - which is what I'd get instead
eg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121779 $420
and you only then need 600W - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151095 $67

and you'd have no problems with SLI eg Watch Dogs where it doesn't work at all.

Personally, I don't see any obvious issues, but from my own personal take, I'd rather go with a single $500 graphics card and two cards in SLI for $490. With that, I'd also probably drop down from a 1000watt PSU to something along the lines of a Seasonic 650 watt PSU. As for the sound card, I'd probably hold off on that purchase until I was sure the on-board audio didn't meet my requirements.

get a z97 chipset board z87 chipset will not support a haswell refresh processor without a BIOS update.A good board with inbuilt wi fi http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-z97prowifiac
dont go for SLI in the first place there are many cons of SLI and not all games support it so go for a gtx 780 or 780ti .
I dont see a point on spending so much on a sound card all the high end mother board comes with excellent inbuilt sound cards 7.1 .

Thank you very much :) I like your suggestions. One thing with the power supply is should i get a slightly higher one for the future? I figured it would be good to have a future proof PSU.

Thank you very much :) definetely think im going to go without the sound card. One question though. Why one expensive card over two cheaper ones? I've always been under the impression that running something in SLI in most cases is much more bang for your buck? Could be wrong as i am a good amount of the time :p

I hate wifi. All experiences I've had with it has been terrible gaming wise. I am going to be directly connected :). Didn't the z97 chips just come out? Didnt think there where that many motherboards out there that do that yet.

then go with any z97 board you like http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/motherboard/#s=24&c=99&l=2

For the most part, a single, high-end card will provide a similar performance experience at a lower heat and power consumption cost than two mid-range cards in SLI/Crossfire. I refer you to this Tom's Hardware thread.

hmm very interesting. After reading the above topic and around online some its definitely a heated debate. A lot of people say 1 high end and a lot of people say 2 mids. What about multiple monitors? Regardless of heat and power is it still better to go for the one high end? Power is not a problem sense im not paying for it at the time and heat is going to be taken care of rather easily sense im having a massive liquid cooled system and some nice fans but into it ;). If that is the case and the higher one remains on sale i'll most likely go with it :).
