Is Intel 2.9 GHz LGA1155 G2020 Processor, Better or Equivalent to Intel 2.3 GHz LGA775 Q8200 Processor in Performance?

Encouraged by a very good response from members of the community especially - Eduello, COLgeek, Delaro in my previous query related to LGA775 Q8200, I have another query:

I am thinking of a Minor Upgrade as LGA775 is becoming obsolete, at present I have Intel 2.3 GHz LGA775 Q8200 Processor based system, I am not sure if it would be worth or not. I would like to have a system which is 1155, it is Comparatively New, and my only concern is Performance as G2020 is Dual Core.

Is there another viable option and so that I can take a Wise Decision.

I can say this with certainty that going from the Core 2 quad to a newer Pentium G, especially the G3258, is going to be noticeably better PC and gaming experience. I used a Core 2 Quad for a bit and it was not that great even coming from a dual core Athlon. the LGA1155 socket along with the Pentium G2020 is OK and is great for the value and can still be paired with a R9 270 and GTX 750 Ti or whatever. Though the real gem is the G3258 along with a LGA1150 Z97 motherboard. haswell refresh has better yields and temps so the overclocks are 4.5Ghz-4.6GHz average that is a big difference in game. Can it run Crysis though well let this vid answer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6F4H_PtJS6c
No it won't be any sort of upgrade, just better clock speeds on Pentium which can be easily achieved by OCing your C2Q. It'd be literally a downgrade from quad to dual core. If you want to really upgrade, the i3 4130 is the least I'd say as its upgradable tech and a better overall CPU.

Q8200:

G2020:

The G2020 is a newer architecture as well as being a faster clock speed. Single threaded performance is much better than the Q8200. If all four cores of the Q8200 are utilized however, it is slightly faster.

If what you are concerned about is an obsolete system, LGA 1155 is already obsolete. Consider an LGA 1150 platform and a Core i3 4XXX processor as suggested above.
