Hello all,
So all of a sudden today, I turned on my computer and it didn't boot. Checked the Q-code to reveal the code 6F. Went into the bios and memory slot B1 said "abnormal". Just great...
I have a 2x8gb corsair Dominator platinum 1600 MHz kit.
I pulled the one stick out of the B1 slot, and it booted fine with the one memory stick in D1 slot.
I then put the memory sticks in the A1 and C1 slots (the other light blue slots), and the computer booted fine.
With just a memory stick in slot B1, nothing happens, not even the POST screen.
I did update the bios recently, and I loaded the default ASUS configuration in the bios. Still no boot with a memory stick in slot B1.
Assuming I am not missing anything, I think that memory slot is dead. If anyone can confirm or suggest anything else, that would be great. For now I will just use slots A1 and C1 until I can afford a new board... Or maybe just upgrade everything the the new X99 stuff and DDR4 memory!! (in my dreams... lol)
Thanks in advanced!
