ok go with this :)

WRONG.

You can look at the "Performance per Watt" chart to get your answer.

The R9-270 is also slightly faster than the GTX660 (not sure of cost though).

and
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/GeForce_GTX_660_Direct_Cu_II/27.html

*So it's close, but if you compare both above to the HD7870 we see the R9-270 is slightly faster (both Asus cards for fair comparison)

Considering how CLOSE it is though, I would look more at other things:

1. VALUE (cost vs FPS)
2. MANTLE benefit for gaming (AMD)
3. NVidia features (PhysX, G-Sync for new monitors, SHADOWPLAY for game recording/streaming)

if you are concerned about power consumption then definitely go for gtx 750 ti its almost similar to r7 265 in performance and can run on a good 350 watt psu and is definitely one of the most power efficient card in the market.
And among the three the best would be r7 270 then gtx 660 and then r7 265

my answer is still gtx 660 no matter how much they are close

shaheer ahmad,
I have an NVidia card myself, but not only are the cards fairly close if you get the right models but the R9-270 has three free games... I'm not sure how to NOT recommend the AMD with that value.

As for POWER:
We don't know what PSU he even has but for the OP here's the rule-of-thumb:

If you have the proper 6/8-pin connectors you should be fine. The R9-270 requires a single 6-pin connector so even a 450W PSU with a 6-pin connector should work:
http://www.asus.com/ca-en/Graphics_Cards/R9270DC2OC2GD5/specifications/

I'm sure he meant the GTX750Ti.

The R9-270 can run off a 450W with 6-pin PCIe power connector and you can buy one for about $40 such as the Antec VP-450.

The GTX750Ti can probably get buy with a 300W PSU depending on the rest of the system, however none of the NVidia cards have the awesome GAMES DEALS that AMD currently has such as three free games for a $160 card.

At $100 for the games roughly, that drops the cost of the card to about $60 (not counting MIR etc).

hey i have a i3 2120 cpu @ 3.3 ghz , 8 gb ddr3 1333 mhz twinmos ram and a corsair 450 vs psu and a asus p8 h61mlx3 r2.0 free game is out of calculation according to my theory gtx 660 oc should be good cause it has more features and generates less heat and noise than amd cards and has 960 cuda cores and exactly perform as 960 not less than that so i think i wll be better of with gtx one
