help on installation of Windows

i am unable to install windows XP or Windows 7. with Win XP while installing the setup gives error of files after completing 55%, where as for Win 7 the Blue screen appears.
But if I install using another mother board it is getting installed successfully.
Please help

could be a bad stick of ram or a bad spot on the hard drive. if it a new pc build or one that been running fine and your trying to reinstall the os. try pulling 1/2 the ram see if the error stops or hits sooner. if you have a usb stick (4g) size try using the microsoft to usb tool and see if windows 7 will install from a usb stick to rule out a failing cd rom drive.
