Hello guys,

My friend wanted to buy this combo on second-hand sale but I have read terrible reviews about this motherboard. It has no VRM and the power phase is 4+1. So will it be possible to use this combo without setting everything on fire? Is OC even as option?

The ambience will be hot, humid and particularly dusty. The cabinet used is Thermaltake Versa H21 with two frontal and rare 120 mm fan. No additional cooler of any kind will be used.

I wouldn't trust MSI's stuff. They are generally a good brand but they are kinda notorious for breaking down more than the other big Motherboard companies. Especially this board being second hand, I really wouldn't take the deal in fear that it would break down a week after he gets it.
If you give me the budget you(or your friend) have I can recommend a good and cheap CPU + Motherboard combination.

That board has a poor power and thermal design , tell him not to buy it.

The MSI , G43 , G45 , G46 are all poor boards.

I have got a Gigabyte GA-78 LMT USB3 board for myself, it cost me INR 4k but the seond hand MSi board will only cost INR 2k...at most my friend's budget is INR 3k ($50), I can only suggest him Gigabyte 78 LMT S2PT; kindly suggest more mobos at that range :)

Some good motherboards under $50:
Gigabyte GA-H81M-H - $44 (INR 2649)
Asus H81M-D PLUS - $44 (INR 2649)
Gigabyte GA-H81M-DS2V - $49 (INR 2950)
Gigabyte GA-B85M-D2V - $49 (INR 2950)
ASRock H81M-HDS - $49 (INR 2950)
All the motherboards listed above won't fair well in overclocking, so don't get k versions of CPUs if your not overclocking, which means there is no need for a aftermarket cooler. Save yourself the $40 ;)

If you do plan on overclocking the cheapest board that would help you with that is this:
ASRock Z97 Anniversary - $84

If you have a preferred purchase website tell me it and I could search around in there to find a place where you can actually buy the boards online.
