This build is perfectly compatible, and will do you well in games for many years to come. Of course, you won't be running Crysis 3 at max settings, but you'll easily tackle Battlefield 4, Minecraft, Garry's Mod, Watch Dogs on Med-High, and anything else you may plunder.

The AMD FX 6-core will not bottleneck in gaming. In video editing and 4k 3d rendering, maybe, but never EVER in gaming. I only use Intel because I do HD video rendering and heavy editing all the time. AMD is fine for games. ALL games.

I would try to get another motherboard, just to get one on which i could overclock.
Like,
http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/compare/asus-motherboard-m5a97r20%2Cgigabyte-motherboard-ga970aud3p%2Cmsi-motherboard-970gaming/
to keep it under $100.

I never said it'll bottleneck. The 15-4690K would beat the 6300 because of many things. Search ''Core i5-4690K vs FX 6300 for gaming'' on any website and it'll tell you the 4690K will beat the FX.
