I have tried to burn the ISO to a CD but that didn't work. The Alienware site describes that I should burn the ISO to a CD and press F12 and select CD to boot. I have also tried to make CD as first boot in the BIOS. What happens is that it's just starts the Windows 7 as normal.

I want to try to do it with a USB. Every forum I have seen is that people use ROM files.
I have a ISO file that I downloaded from Alienware site.

I have a Alienware M17x r3 (64 bit)
Nibitor doesn't want to read my bios.
I get this message: Can't start driver: 577

The purpose I want to flash my GPU to the newest is that some throttle issues has been fixed.
I have problem with throttling, And my temperature is getting to 75C. That is not that high whe this GPU can supprt 90-100C

Solution
Arctic Silver's Articlean is a popular cleaning solution kit that I use myself. It works effectively and it's much better than cleaning with peroxide or any other rubbing alcohol based solution. Those black squares are most likely for cooling the VRM units and VRAM along with other circuitry aboard the card. You can either leave those on or off as they usually don't make much of a difference. It's probably best to leave them on though in my opinion.

I just managed to do it. But thanks anyways : )
On Alienware site the file is a ISO file. I opened the ISO in PowerISO and found the ROM file there. I used Nvflash and made the USB to DOS. I copied the ROM file to the USB and it worked. But the throttling is still there. I thought it would be fixed. I think I have to mod it, but Nibitor doesn't work on Windows 7 (64 bit)

It cannot read the BIOS for some reason.

Yes, it's throttling around 70C I think. Can't remeber where I read that, but the 560M does have some throttling issues. I will buy a new thermal paste, but the temperature doesn't go above 75C and it's still throttling.

The best or really most recommended thermal paste you can get (as tested here at toms) is Gelid GC Extreme.

I wouldn't have doubted that a mobile version of a Fermi-based card would be having issues. The cards based off the architecture are notorious for running quite 'warm'. Also don't forget to use some canned air to clean any dust out before you reapply your paste.

What should i use to clean the old thermal paste with? And also. On the GPU there are some black squares that also needs to be covered up. What can I use on that? I opened up my GPU and it was not thermal paste on the black squares. But something else that I could just easily remove.

Thanks. I will do that. What if it still is throttling after I apply thermal paste? battlefield 3 is lagging on low setting, and it worked on high setting before.
Also funmark is lagging and gives me like 4 FPS.

I would completely uninstall your drivers using this guide. This would be to eliminate any sort of driver issue. If that doesn't work then try to update your motherboard BIOS. I've dealt with a few alienware laptops that also have had throttling issues but most of them were because of dusty notebooks or Nvidia Optimus issues. Don't feel bad about asking me anymore questions. It's why I'm here. <3

I just had a clean install of Windows 7. The CD that came with my laptop. I have clean all the dust away. after I did the clean install I updated the bios. installed drivers from alienware site, and then windows updates. So unistalling every driver wouldn't help i think. I will get a new thermal paste, and if that doesn't work, I will just turn the laptop in. It is for free they told me. I have also done a test with FurMark. Maybe you could look at it.
