Hey guys im running

12 gb ram (4+4 gb corsair vengeance pro and 2+2 gb corsair xms 3)
Gigabyte GTX770 2GB oc edition
Asus P7H57D V-EVO
Intel Core i5 670 @ 3.47GHz

Basically i play pretty much cs go exclusively and since i got this gpu i get really low fps. I get an averege of 120 with occasional drops to 70-80 fps. I use the latest nvidia drivers and lowest in game settings. The weirdest thing though is that i have an old GTS 250 and when i use that i get 160 relatively stable fps with drops to 140.....

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?? is the gtx770 faulty??? is my motherboard too old and not fully compatible with the gpu. I know very little to the subject so please if you could help me it would be awesome because im really fed up with this. I see other videos on youtube with gtx 770s on cs go and they get a stable 250 fps........

Faulty cards tend to either fail completely or show artifacts.

I'm not sure what's going on though. It would be helpful to see how it performs in other games.

*If you run 3DMark2001se you can compare to my score. I have a better CPU but my score is about 66,000.

Your dual-core CPU will affect the results but I'd expect maybe 50,000 or so.

1) Monitor your GPU frequency. If it's running at less than max that could account for the numbers.

2) Try forcing max performance in the NVidia Control Panel for CS GO. Go to "Manage 3D settings"-> "Power Management Mode"...

Don't do it globally. Start the game, close it, then click "ADD" to add the game.

I believe this forces the GPU to not throttle down. Normally this should be all automatic so not sure why it would throttle with VSYNC OFF. (personally I'd leave it on as I hate tearing)

i hadnt tried to see my fps on max settings actually.. i just did and i get an averege of 270 on an empty server and depending on the people alive a very stable 150 which goes up if there are less people alive. overall it is A LOT smoother on max settings which consfuses me even more -.-

well its counter strike :p everybody uses lower settings for fps boost and to be able to spot people easily because there arent any distractions from the max settings effects on the map (textures etc...)

1. You already got FPS boost by going with Higher settings.
2. There're many different advanced graphics settings in CS: GO, just like any other modern game, and tweaking with shader detail and some other stuff will give you the desired output I hope.

yes but still shoudnt i get a lot more fps with low settings? also what would be better upgrading the cpu or getting a 144hz monitor? a youtube with the a 770, Intel® Core™ i7-4770K and a 144hz monitor gets average a little bit above 300 fps on low settings so i guess my cpu is real problem here right?

What I'm trying to enlighten you on, is, a 144Hz monitor CAN NOT have more than 144Hz refresh rate and therefore CAN NOT do more than 144 FPS. Your CPU is old (but in no way weak), and CS: GO is a bit too dependent on CPU so upgrading will get you some more FPS, but then again, they wouldn't be more than 60 if your current monitor, which you won't change because of CPU upgrade, is 60Hz. Get 144Hz monitor and enjoy the 120 FPS you get.

but the guy gets 300 fps with a 144hz monitor and this setup

Intel® Core™ i7-4770K
Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 2gb
120 GB HyperX SSD
8 GB HyperX 1600MHz DDR3

all low settings and of course v-sync off just like my settings are setup... so it has to be the cpu

Synthetic benchmarks are good to look at, but rarely help. Yes 300 FPS is obviously better than 200 FPS, but, a bit of common sense here, where's the display to do 200 FPS? You can't get more than 144Hz on any mainstream gaming monitor weather you get 150 FPS or 500 FPS in benchmarks. Or get a 240Hz monitor to get 240 FPS:

Your CPU is good enough, I just can't express my displeasure over your impression that 300 FPS is what one should get with 770. 60+ FPS on any game is excellent, 100+ FPS is outstanding and more than enough. Even if you get 5960X with 32GB of memory and 780 Ti, you can't go over 60 FPS in real world with a 60Hz monitor, please try to get what I'm trying to say.

i understand what you re trying to say but in a game like counter strike fps make a lot of difference. its not only about how smooth it is which will obviously help you, but it also affects things like hit registration. and also the tests that i did before was on a server with bots on actuall matchmaking max settings give me around 70-80 fps which is unplayable and with low settings around 110 fps which is very low and very frequent fps drops make it even worse. im starting to think again that something must be wrong with the card

im assuming gpu load is what you're asking about and i see it being mainly around 35% but at times it goes around 55-65% but only for a few seconds. temprature is 49 degrees

That's it, I researched around a bit and found CS: GO is (much) more CPU dependent than GPU dependent. So the CPU would've been a bottleneck if it's usage was in 90s, but that's not the case either. And an i5 bottlenecking in a game is weird anyways.

I'd have adviced a CPU upgrade if in any case the CPU load goes up to 85-100%. Check out the comments here:

http://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/23aei7/if_you_get_average_400_fps_in_csgo_can_you_pls/

Your CPU is not that powerful but still plenty to get 200+ FPS. I don't understand this either.

Download the CPU diagnostic tool to check if everything's alright:

yep did it everything was fine. just one more question my motherboard has a LGA 1156 CPU Socket Type. this means that i can use only LGA 1156 cpus and not ANY other socket type
