Hi guys,

I have tried to find an answer to this but cant.

I want to put a bottom intake fan into my case. However because of the gap under the case being quite tight, Should I use a high pressure fan or an airflow fan? I worried an airflow fan might struggle to suck air in through the air filter and the tight gap efficiently.

Thanks

I thought there was a difference? I think maybe they are called high static pressure fans. Something to do with blade design?

heres the deal there just fans this one looks to give you the best cfm's at the rated rpm and that's what I would look at
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

in theory the greater cfm at the lowest rpm is what you want cause at a lower rpm should be less noise with out sacrificing air flow

a fan running 2000 rpm and pushing 30 cfm or a fan running 1600 rpm pushing 30 cfm??

seems the 1600 would have a better fan blade to get the same air as the one that need 2000 rpm [opinion]

Static pressure is more important for thick radiators with tightly packed fins and that's really it. I wouldn't recommend the corsair series of fans to be honest. If you want something good check this one out http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12312/fan-797/Aerocoo.... It's about a dB louder so you wouldn't be able to tell the difference and it moves about 30cfm more so a much better fan.

I did not want to come off recommending anything just out of the 3 he posted to choose from ,but its still as I said the fan Davil posted is 30 cfm stronger at the same rpm as to what I was getting at above [shop and check specs.]
