Time for an upgrade !

Viewing some benchmarks between these cards , sometimes the r9 wins and the other times the 780Ti wins.

Main reason is gaming.

Monitor 29'' 21:9 (2560x1080)

Need help and suggestions and write down the reason.

Thanks all.

AMD is giving a $500 discount on the R9 295x2 sometime this week I believe. Still expensive as hell though.

Between the 780 Ti and the R9 290x, if you want the best performance, go with the 780 Ti.
If you want a little more bang for your buck at the cost of slightly reduced performance, go with the R9 290x.

290X is little slower than 780ti but have more Vram for future gaming. 3GB will be out of question soon enough even for 1080p.

Im playing Dead Rising 3 with my 280X and game is using 2.8Gb vram, see my point?

So at the highest resolution (1080p) , i will get more fps with a gpu like 290x , right ?

No. 3GB is fine for 1080p, you'll get more out of the 780 Ti's extra power than from that extra 1GB of VRAM.

EDIT: More importantly, wait for Nvidia's 800/900 series. The 880/980 will most likely have 4GB VRAM, be more powerful than both these cards, it'll be cheaper and it'll consume less power too.

Both cards will provide stable and high fps. Question is how long. Thats why said 290X will last longer becouse higher vram.

So you're saying the 290x will last longer because of the vram and the other guy is saying the 780ti fill last longer.

I didn't say it'll last longer. I said that 3GB VRAM is fine for 1080p. If you're moving to 1440p or 4K soon that extra gig of VRAM starts to matter.

But seriously, wait for the 800/900 series. It's something like two weeks away and it'll probably offer the best of both worlds and then some.

You better wait for the GTX 980 to be released on September 19. It might be ~10% faster than a GTX 780 Ti for about $500. In any event, you'll probably have better prices, more choices, and more information to make a better decision.
