What's up with this gtx 980?

So i've i saw a few post's and it says that it will need 170w psu and it will be 10% better than the 780is it true? And how much does this gpu cost,if its out yet.

It's not out yet and all we have is rumours.

The official announcement seems to be coming on the ninth of September, with the actual release happening 1-2 weeks later.

If the rumours are correct then yes, it will be more powerful than the 780 Ti and yes, it will consume less power. We don't have any solid numbers yet though.

980 or 880? I don't think the new GPUs are going to be out until later this month. (I think I heard 9th, but that might be the new iphone I'm thinking of.)

It launches 19 september so news before that are basicly 'leaks', just wait until reliable info comes out

Another rumour is that Nvidia will skip the 800 series (because of some crap with mobile GPUs) and rename the next generation to 900. So 880, 980, probably the same thing.

I know there was an issue with the OEM cards, but I couldn't remember if that was with the 7 or 8 series.
