When ever I try to boot up my computer I receive the following error message on a blue screen: stop: c000021a {Fatal System Error} The verification of a knowDLL failed. This error occurs after the "Starting Windows" screen is shown. Prior to this message, a screen labeled "Windows Error Recovery" is displayed, and it instructs me to insert my Windows installation disk and restart my computer, then click on "repair your computer" to resolve the issue. I have an HP pavilion g6 laptop, with windows preinstalled, so there is no installation disk. I am unable to launch in any mode (safe mode, last known good configuration, etc...) as I am always confronted with the blue screen. I have run a system diagnostic and everything went smoothly, so that was no help. I tried running HP recovery disk, but that also did not boot. I am running windows 7 and at this point would take even a way to do a factory reset to save my computer, any input would be greatly appreciated. If this is in the wrong forum, I would greatly appreciate if you could direct to the correct place to post this as well.

FIXED: got frustrated so when it was booting up and gave the option for bios I dragged my finger across every one of the function keys, HP boot disc started working after that. No idea what happened, but I'm just gonna go ahead and do a reset of windows. Thanks for the replies!

The bios on my computer is very limited, the most I can do is set the boot order, which has USB CD/DVD ROM Drive at the top. Regardless, it still seems to try to launch into windows and I still get the blue screen. The only difference is that there is an additional black screen called "Windows Boot Manager" which asks me to choose an operating system, the only option being "Windows 7 Home Premium (recovered)". Selecting this then prompts the Windows Error Recovery Screen, and the rest remains the same as I previously described.

Whenever I try to launch the hp recovery, it just goes immediately into the Windows Error Recovery screen

Doing this changes nothing, I still have the same error. In the bios I selected "boot from CD" as the priority during startup, and when I start it up it gives the same error.

I don't have any additional ram, but I do have an SSD which is where windows is installed, as well as a HDD from which I removed windows to install onto the SSD, could the problem be related to this? I did this about 4 months ago, and this is the first time I've had problems launching windows since then.
