So on the 1080p everything has a blur around it and makes everything look really poor and pixels are easily visible.
Whereas the 900p monitor looks completely fine. Looks exactly what you'd expect from a monitor.

I've made sure the cables are fully plugged in and very curious aboutthis. Anyone have any ideas?

Did you turn off any post processing on the TV? They are usually called picture modes such as movie or sports or gaming etc. Gaming mode usually turns off all post processing.

Did you also right click on your desktop and clicked on Screen Resolution on the drop down menu to adjust it?

I had it on the "natural" mode but "game" mode looks almost exactly the same, a little bit better.

I've got the resolution set to 1080p. But it still looks dodgy.

Text is the thing thats affected most

Sounds like it might be the scaling on your TV. Try to poke around in the options for a bit. I could say it's low pixel density but that's a silly answer
