99% probability of it being a no, but there is always that 1% with new hardware.

I wouldnt worry.

The i5-4440, like any other CPU, can bottleneck ANY GPU. Whether or not it can bottleneck a hypothetical future GPU is not even debatable. It absolutely can and will bottleneck the GPU given the right conditions.

If an overclocked i7-4790K can bottleneck a GTX760 or R9 270 in existing strategy games, MMOs, and compute intensive multiplayer games, then there's no reason to assume that a weaker CPU could never bottleneck an even more powerful GPU.

----------

Match the compute workload of your desired FPS in your desired game titles to a CPU.
Match your desired visual quality and FPS in those games to a GPU.

Don't try to match the CPU to the GPU, that's a fundamentally broken approach to hardware matching as it does not take into consideration any of the *actual* issues effecting the workload for each component.

An i5-4440 is a fantastic CPU choice for playing games in general, whether that is playing them at 720P at medium settings with a GTX650, or at 4K ultra with 2 X GTX780Ti's. The compute workload for a given frame rate is pretty similar either way, so you should match your CPU to the desired frame rate in the games you want to play no matter what GPU and visual quality settings you have in mind.
