Model: Western Digital My Book AV 1000GB
3,5" / USB 2.0 / eSATA / 7 200 rmp

Hello, i got this baby for almost 4 years and it served me faithfully till 2 days ago when my Bird (cockatiel) decided to chew the power cord. I managed to find a new one for newest model, i compared the description and its practically a same one but in appearance.(Power source)

But since the accident the drive is not loading in windows. It is registering in USB port and on bottom right corner it showing the "Safely remove hardware" button for the device, but when i look into "Computer" its not there.

In disk management, it is showing a DISK 1 with right size, but apparently it is offline. When i tried to initialize disk, it gave me message "Media is write protected".

I downloaded WD disk diagnostic software and now running extended diagnostic test, which will run for several hours, but in the meantime i wanted to ask, if you have any idea what could have happened and if everything i try fail, if there is possible way to save some of the data on the disk. Thank you

PS: The eSATA is not working either and its same as usb.

UPDATE #1 WD diagnostic just now "Too many bad sectors detected"
