I am at a lost on what is wrong with my 3 monitors as they use to work just fine, then I want away for a week and when i came back it stop working right.
For my setup I have the one Asus R9 280X which has 2 DVI slots and 4 Displayports on it. All 3 of my monitors are the same, they are the Samsung S24C310HL.
The way they are hook up is the left and right monitors are plug in the DVI slots and the middle one is plug in the displayport though a Active DP adapter.
I can get the 2 monitor that are plug in the DVI slots to work fine but the one I am having problems with is the Active DP one. At first it wouldn't come on at all, but now I got it to comeback on but it is stuck on 640x480 and no matter what I try I can't change the resolution no matter what I do. I try using windows and the ccc with no luck, I even try updating the drivers with no luck.
I am hoping someone here can help me out.
Thank you in advance.

I didn't know they had battery in them, but mine wasn't that old to begin with less then a year. But I have the StarTech Active DP adapter. Is there any way to test them?

I can't think of any way to test an adapter but you could try unscrewing it and replacing the battery. That might work. I'm not exactly much of an electrician but I can ask my dad who used to help design and manufacture capacitors down at Kemet. I'll ask him about it.

Thanks Dovah-chan, I find a place near by where I can order the Sapphire Active DP Adapter, so I am going to give that a try. Ill post later on if that works....

He said that he guesses you could pull out the battery directly and test it but a dead battery might not be the issue. Instead he inferred that it is probably due to poor circuitry connections or improper if any ventilation as those types of adapters get quite warm sometimes and aren't built with that in mind.

Seems pretty accurate to me. I'm sorry that it stopped working though :( I just got back from a 1 week vacation as I'm writing this post and I'm hoping my monitors are still working as this scared me >___<

Just got my new cable in today and sure enough it work great. So I guess my old cable was the reason behind all the problems. I just hope my new one last a bit longer then the first one.....
Also I hope you have no problems with your monitors. =D
Thanks you so much Dovah-chan!
