Is it worth it to buy 1440p monitors? If so will 2x r9 290x vapor in crossfire be enough for ultra in gta v and battlefield?Any other cards that perform better are welcome. If ultra performs terrible on 1440p or will not last that long then I'll be glad to get a 1080p monitor instead.1440p or 1080p 25-27 inch monitor suggestions are welcome

More about : 1440p worth

That would nearly be enough if not enough for 3 1440p monitors on ultra playing battlefield 4. Look up linus tech tiips surround build guide

my 780 has no problems with bf4 maxed out at 1440p. two 290x's are 4k capable if running fxaa. they would be more than enough for 1440p, and even a single 290x will give you no problems.

A single R9 290X Vapor X will be enough to get solid 60+ FPS on 2k, CFX will get 80+ FPS. A good 1440p for the price:
Monitor: Acer K272HULbmiidp 60Hz 27.0" Monitor ($399.99 @ Amazon)

Or you can go all pro with an Asus ROG Swift.

Games look a little less sharp and bit blurry running at 1080p on a 1440p monitor, but nothing too crazy.

A single R9 290X on a 60Hz 1440p will be a good enough combo :)

A goodr9 290x will get 60fps ish on 1440p, it's definitely wirth it, but I'd wait till 900 series come out, if you already have a r9 290x, a single card is enough

Do you think 4k will run fine on gta and shaders? I like at least 60fps

No card can run 4k well atm unless it's the r9 295x2, that'll give you 60fps on 4k

Does 1080p look better on 4k? And does 3 crossfire 290x vapor run 4k good

4k is a resolution, so is 1080p, so you can't have 1080p on 4k, and yeah it should

Will the less VRAM affect the performance or how well future games will perform? And in 2-3 years will I still be on ultra with 2x 780ti

Yeah that is something to be worried about, and yes it'll give ultra for next 4 years in sli at least, you can sli 780 6gb maybe

Do you think the extra money and less VRAM is worth it for gsync?I s gsync that much of a difference? Will I still get 144hz and 1ms without it?

Yswah you still will but g sync make some games that support it look nicer, there are lots of 1440p monitors that have 144hz out there if you want to not go nvidia

for someone gaming on a 1440p ips panel, i am just not happy with tn panels at all anymore. i will wait for strobbed 1440p 120hz panels to mature before even think about getting a different monitor, by which time 4k will likely be the aim anyways. im just a casual gamer anyways, i have no problem doing very well on bf4 multiplayer running 60hz and some 10ms refresh with some ghosting, but i honestly dont notice it. im sure if i spent time with a nice 144hz 1ms panel, i may come to love the high refresh, but i would still hate the color reproduction, poor black/white shadow definition, and poor off angle viewing.

I'd recommend the swift + nvidia gpu solution. The thing about gsync is not only buttery smooth gaming at 100+ fps with, but it also makes frame rates as low as 45 feel and look much better, no stuttering, no tearing.

4GB will be better on 2k/ 4k than 3GB, especially in texture intensive games like modded Skyrim and BF3/4.

Yes wait for 900 series, I'm hopeful its a better 4k performer.

Or else, just get a 295X2, no CFX driver probs, no compromise on performance, just a single beast GPU. Temps run high but there's always a Sapphire for that :)

I'm going with the 780 ti sli for now but I won't start building or buying until November or October so most likely I'll be using the 900 series. Will they be as expensive as a 95x2?

Will The 2way 780 ti sli be enough for ultra on 1440p? for how long until I will have to turn down settings? And what percentage is the drop of fps going from 1080 to 1440?

If you're going to play at 1080p only, there's no reason to get a monitor of a higher resolution.

A single R9 290X/ GTX 780 Ti will be enough, SLI or CF in future when you feel like. You'll get 60+ FPS right now on a single card.

Dude if you are not building until november don't go with 780ti's, just get the 900 series. They should be announced sometime this month.

Also, I don't feel getting a second monitor is needed or worth it IMO. But if you do any 1080p monitor should do. Since you will not be gaming on it, response time doesn't really matter.
