Hi, I'm currently taking an IT degree at USF and when I was last talking to my advisor she mentioned that they offer a robotics specialization on their IT program. I tried getting more info but the instructor that is in charge of the program is currently away and won't be back for a few weeks, so I can't get a lot more information right now from the University (It is a relatively new program so not a lot of people are aware of it). I was wondering if anyone knew how that might apply to real-world jobs out there, and if it's a good thing to try to get into? Otherwise I'm looking at either networking or database specialization. I don't mind either based on my limited experience so far, so I could easily go either way.

I believe that either networks or database would be MUCH more employable. If it were me, and I had enjoyed it, I would pick database. There are too many people that think that a few Cisco courses are sufficient and therefore a lot more competition. Database has a lot more theoretical stuff backing it that is better learned in college. Granted you still need SQL skills and other practical things but knowing the THEORY behind good database architecture (hardware and software) is a very marketable skill.
