I was playing the Sims 3, and I saw the fps spike up to very unreasonable levels like from 174 fps to almost 300 fps. Since there is no v-sync system in the game, is there a possible way to control the fps to 60 and without melting my graphics card?

Thanks Guys any help would be appreciated!!

You can force Vsync through the Catalyst Control Center. Not sure what the problem with having high framerates is, though. It's not like you're frying your card or anything, it's just rendering as many frames as it can. The game isn't timed by frame or anything, so it wouldn't affect gameplay.

I tried the catalyst control a alot of times and it never works. And what i heard about the graphics card melting, because it pushes your graphics card to its limits for no reason
