Today my GPU ceased to function normally - it begun having the telltale signs; screen flickering, constant crashing, display adapter BSOD's, etc. So I figured I need a new GPU. However, later on the pc now refuses to boot at all, before I could get to the desktop and it would crash shortly after, but now there is no display on my monitor at all. I haven't moved any parts or installed any new ones in ages, so I don't know what is wrong. I also unfortunately do not have a motherboard speaker. The lights in the case and on my mouse light up (mouse lights up even if pc not technically 'on', but plugged in) but the lights for other things such as my keyboard and usb microphone are not coming on.
If anyone can provide me some advice, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Do a cold reboot. Unplug power cable and hold power button for 20 secs. Reconnect power cable and boot. Try and get to BIOS and check stuff there, if all is good, try to boot to log in screen.

Thanks for the quick reply

That doesn't seem to have worked. The lights flashed for a brief second after holding the power button, and the fans spun a bit. After plugging it back in, all the normal switching on noises are present, and I can definitely see the psu fan spinning, but there is still no display on the monitor. If you have any other suggestions please let me know, thanks.

Hey thanks for the reply.
I haven't done any of those yet, but I definitely will be once my new GPU arrives tomorrow. (I had one ordered before this happened so if it's the graphics card it wold be awfully convenient!)
I wanted to ask here first before I do any changes to ensure I hadn't potentially missed anything before I open my case up.

Nope, monitor simply displays no signal whatsoever. It doesn't have a "check signal cable" error, as if there's nothing plugged into it, but it just comes up with "power saving mode", as if the pc is idle or has just been shut down.

I don't think I can. But I don't see how it could suddenly reject the adapter seeing as no changes have been made at all recently?

you can do this NOW to test your system.
