Should I replace my current RAM?

Currently I have two Corsair XMS3 1333Mhz DDR3 RAM sticks installed in dual-channel memory mode. The M5A99FX board that I own only supports dual channel, so triple channel is out of the question. My main question is this: Am I going to see any difference whatsoever if I buy some Corsair Dominator DDR3 2133Mhz sticks to replace my current ones, or would it just be better spent elsewhere? Also, as a side note, I recently purchased a Sapphire Tri-X R9 290 (OC) graphics card. I'm not sure if it is being held back by my FX 6300. If it is, any processor recommendations that can handle it and are under 400 dollars would be greatly appreciated. I don't care about Intel vs. AMD because except for my motherboard, everything else I have is compatible (which means if you suggest Intel, it wouldn't hurt to suggest a motherboard under 200 that has a USB 3.0 header for my case). Thanks for reading and helping my solve my problem :)

I'd go Intel, CPU will in large part will depend on what you do, the 4790K would be my choice, for longevity since it will be a new build, though if primarily gaming the 4690K would be good, pair it with a Z97 mobo and will be ready to upgrade CPU down the road to Broadwell if you wanted or needed it

I have 2 x 4GB sticks in dual-channel atm.

As far as the processor goes, I was thinking of switching to an Intel Core i7-4790K. I'm aware that my motherboard is AMD only so I'd have to replace it. Is it a worthwhile investment?

Yeah i figured as much. So the best thing to do for performance would be to upgrade my processor? I'm only running a single monitor so my GPU is overkill as it is, so no need for CrossFire. I don't want to shell out 100+ for RAM that isn't going to change much. So what do you think? Should I stay AMD and just get a higher end processor or go Intel and get a i7-4790k?
