I am interested in an Apu build as for 720p gaming . But where I live , A10 7850k costs around 210$ (a10 6800k 190$) , where as the cheapest mobo available is 100$ , other 300$ option is H81 mobo, i3 4130 and gt 740(120$). With a Pentium I might get a 750. Plz help as I will only be able to upgrade ram and HDD on the road and other upgrade won't be done for like 2 years.

More about : a10 7850k 740

I would try to get Pentium G3258 with a Z97 motherboard and overclock it a little. Then maybe GT 740 or GTX 750.

Without the Z97 motherboard though the G3258 will hold you back in gaming.

Yea but you have to consider that the pentium G3258 is very similar to I3 and is unlocked so you can overclock it. While I3 has hyperthreading you can't overclock it at all.

To overclock you need the Z97 motherboard however, not B85 or H97 ect.

If you can get the Z97 motherboard I would def get the G3258 as you can overclock it.

If you can not get a Z97 motherboard then the i3 would be a little better but is still gonna struggle on certain games that need lots of CPU power.

Hopefully I am not confusing you, and hope this helps.
