Hi, beginning today, I've been having trouble with all my steam games. One of my friends, is having the same problem. We get a high framerate when first joining a game. But, over time it will go down until it reaches less than 10 fps. The game we've been playing with these specific frames is unturned. All the other games are low too. BTW, on average, I get between 90 and 120 frames on unturned. What could be the cause of it lowering over time? I have an Alienware m17x R4, an nvidia 660m 1gb graphics card, and a 2.4 ghz CPU clock. Not OC'd.

unturned is horribly optimized. you just going to have to deal with it. start turning a few settings down to the lowest until you find which settings are causing the problem. otherwise wait for an update.

What would cause the sudden drop though? Yesterday it was between 90 and 120... That's not a very good solution because they are all at the minimum.

what would cause a drop? a memory leak from bad coding in the unity engine.

They're in between 50 and 60. All the cores.

Then it could definitely be an issue with the game as nikoli707 suggested. Was the game updated before this started happening?

Actually, yes. But my friends friend doesn't have this problem. (Although he plays on average at 10-15 fps) It could be I just can't get that low.

Yeah, that sure sounds odd...
Since the game is early access, I don't think there's anything you can do but wait for future updates :(

Wait, I just realized it's on every steam game I have. Same for my friend.

What is your CPU/GPU/RAM usage while gaming? You can use task manager and MSI afterburner to monitor those.

The GPU is at 95 percent most of the time but when it gets laggy the usage goes down... Ram stays around 5-8 gb

Wait, nevermind GPU is being 100 utilized at all times.

The GPU gets up to 93C? It might be overheating, does the GPU clock stay the same or does it go down when the temps get high (can also be checked with Afterburner)?

The clock stays the same and the core is staying around 93c. I don't understand why it's getting that high... It never has gotten that high before.

You could try getting a cooling pad, it should increase the lifetime of your laptop and it might help with performance issues as well.
