This may be a weird question but in the summer sometimes a lot of insects get into the house. I want to know whether or not these lights will attract insects to the PC. Thanks

surprisingly.. lights will attract insects that are attracted to light (e.g. moths)..

But it depends on how bright the lights are (compared to other light sources) and how visible they are..

All a bit obvious really - so strange question!!
HTH though

Insects will be attracted to any sort of lights but then again how bright are they and how good is your protection system against insect , whether you windows are covered up and stuff like that , never the less it will attract some attention but don't expect a bee hive to come near your pc only tiny mosquitoes or maybe flies but nothing serious.

I haven't actually built my PC yet so through which areas of the case could the insects get in?

The insects won't get into the case , They'll stick maybe to the monitor or come closer to the air vents but since you'll have fans they won't be able to enter.

I would not bank on them not being able get in (though I guess the insects in pictures prob got in while it was turned off)

I live in a very insect infected place and once I turn my fans on they don't come in as they can be crushed and the openings of my case are small too , at day time when I am not using the PC I just close the doors or put some sort of light cover on it.

There isn't a case made that is bug proof. Wherever your case is, it's inside a room somewhere, and no one I can think of likes to live with bugs, so if you maintain the room, bug sprays, and traps, general cleanliness, maybe even a fly strip or 2, bugs inside your case won't be a problem, leds or not.

I think I made the problem sound much more worse then it really is. I just really hate bugs. It's mostly coming from my neighbors where one of their garden is like a rain forest and the other is just really dirty because he's old so I find it difficult to keep any insects away from my house. Anyway, I'd like to thank all of you for your replies, I really appreciate it.
