I found an R9 280x Tri-x OC (orange one with 3 fans) for only $200. They cost around $300 on newegg. In the description they say they used it for 3 weeks but then they couldn't use it because of something with the ACIS? So would I have any problems buying and using this card?

Solution
Maybe they meant the ASIC number which is a measure of the card 'quality', if it's not high enough bitcoin miners can't overclock the card or run it quite as hard-remember they're aiming at 24/7 operation, not normal use here.
Personally, I don't like used hardware and seldom advise its purchase but, if the seller has good positive feedback I'd give it a try, if not, I'd leave it alone.
