I've had my PC for around a year now. I've cleaned it recently, however every now and then (for around 1min, normally when i open a program/game or watch a video/DVD) one of the components in my PC makes a load noise. I've opened it up and induced the noise whilst listening, and it seems as though the noise comes from my disk drive, which is weird because I rarely use it.

I am pretty certain that is the cause, but i would just like some help so i can understand how to fix this problem.

Thanks.

A very load 'WURRRRRRRRRRR' noise - I'm not sure how to liken it to anything...

That's the sound of the drive spinning up. It's normal.
