Hi,

I am trying to switch my wireless connection on my home pc to a ethernet connection. It is a cisco router. My computer does not seem to recognize this as an option unless I remove the wireless adapter, and then it states that I do not have the drivers for the ethernet connection. Can someone please help? I tried searching the cisco website, and to be honest most of the information that pops up is wayyy over my head. I know this is a fairly simple task but I'm mentally exhausted and if someone could help that would be great.

It sounds like you haven't installed the drivers for your motherboard's built-in Ethernet controller. Those can be found at the motherboard (or computer brand's) website, and will be based on model number AND the correct OS version (Win 7 32- or 64-bit, for example - be sure to get the correct version).
