Firs PC build, Asusz97-a How on ear th do I install mobo through i/o shield?

Hi everyone!
Some, if not a signifant number of people wll be aware I am building first gaming PC. I have had the mobo ready to go inthe case ( cooler master CM 690 III) for hours but cannot for the life of me get the rear i/o ports into the i/o shield

Hello Masterdam17!
Thank you so much for your swift reply!! Yes I have installed the shield and bent all of the 'prongs' at approx 90 degrees as specified by one of the tutorials on this site. However I am finding it incredibly difficult with only two hands to place the mobo so the interfaces go through the shield. So sorry I am so crap at this it is very frustating
I presume I am supposed to bend the prongs, as I have, inwards toward the case as opposed to outwards?

I'm pretty sure you bend the prongs inwards.

I cant be doing this correctly all the prongues are ponting into the case at 9 deg to the shield. I guess the prongues are supposed to be flat?
