Call of Duty: World at War - Crash

My mate has just bought Call of Duty: World at War from the steam sale. When he plays Zombies or Multiplayer his whole PC crashes after atleast 15 minutes of gameplay. Call of Duty: World at War is the only game on his PC he has issues with. He can play games such as Battlefield 4 and Thief both on max settings. He has tried uninstalling the game a few times over and a few more other ways to counter this problem but he just can't figure out what it could be.

Don't really know what the problem might be, but does he use any programs like xfire or any other programs with overlays of some kind? If so, try turning them off maybe. It might be a problem with drivers or something.

He says he has programs which checks his drives to keep them up to date and fixed. But he doesn't use programs such as xfire. Thank you for your suggestion though.
