Ok ill try to detail this as best as possible because i really need help, (to begin with i'm not to savvy on this subject)
i currently have TIME WARNER CABLE as an internet provider, i run about 320mbps DOWNLOAD and 20mbps upload which is really good compared to what most people have (at least the download speed) , the main use for my internet is my PLAYSTATION 4, i have a ARRIS modem/router which the company provided for me. i DONT have a separate router, i have an ethernet cable which goes directly to my PS4 from my ARRIS modem/router, then i have about 3 phones and a laptop which also connect to the modem/router wirelessly, whenever i'm playing online on my ps4 and i use my laptop to browse the web at the same time my connection starts getting very "laggy" on my ps4, and at times i even get timed out... people have suggested getting a router, going to portforward.com, and other things.... i'd like to know what it is that might be causing this....hope someone can help me find a solution
