Few nights ago, I was gaming and stepped away for a minute. I came back to find my monitors black with the fans still running. Sleep/idle mode? Nope. I hit the power/restart button...nothing. Pull the plug out of fear and plug it in after a long pause. No lights no power.

I remove the power supply and do the paperclip test to see if the psu went...turns on/runs fine.

Due to time, I dropped it off at local store that does free diagnostics. They said they found corrosion on the motherboard (and video card).

Below is what I currently have (built in Oct 2011). After days of researching gaming motherboards that are compatible with my intel core, I have been unsuccessful choosing. (also researching video cards). Please advise on a motherboard.Thank you.

PS, I enjoy the clip-on miniSSD slot that is on this motherboard.

Would have to be a Z68 for that clip on, I'd suggest the Z77 Extreme 4 from the Rock, best selling and best rated and reasonable ($125)
