really am confused

On a gateway desktop (sx2110G) windows 8 the internet connection not working. In device manager there are no errors. I have reinstalled windows and still no luck. I have tried a pci network card and have tried pci-e card still nothing. I tried a usb to Ethernet with no luck. I am so confused. Everything offline works fine. Any suggestions?

It sounds like the classic "you just uninstalled Norton software and now your internet doesn't work"
If you have had ANY NORTON OR SYMANTEK software on your comupter that you uninstalled it will stop your internet from working. I have seen it MANY times. You have to get a special program "Norton uninstaller" in order to get the internet to work again.
