Completely wiped my HDD and prepped it for a fresh installation of Win 7 - used diskpart etc. However I now get "bootmgr missing" when trying to install from orig microsoft dvd - i googled the error and tried EVERYTHING to no avail...

I have the win 7 DVD I bought from the store and I'm able to remove my hdd from the case it's in and connect it to my laptop via a USB hub that has a sata connection and I've scanned the drive to make sure it's functioning properly and it is.

Since I can connect the hdd in question to my laptop via USB, isn't there some way I could install windows 7 to the drive in question, remove it, and put back in the desktop I'm trying to get up and running?
