Hi everyone, this is my first time posting but I've been lurking a lot the past few days.
I am planning to use this computer build to play games and to start 3D modelling.
I have surfed the web where people discussed that 3d modelling involves getting a strong CPU and workstation graphics card. Is this true?
At the moment, I cannot afford building a second computer alone just for 3D Modelling so I want to use my current computer for games and modelling.
I've never built my computer, and I usually let a relative of mine do it since he's very enthusiastic about building computers.
For games, I mostly play Civ 5, Killing Floor, and 7 Days to Die.
I'm planning to play Archeage once I have more time.
- I think that my PSU, RAM, Case, and fans are fine as it is.
- I prefer not to buy from Newegg due to personal reasons..
- I've had horrible experiences with the AMD Graphics Card so I would like to avoid those too.
- My current budget is 800$ but can go up to 900$ if I'm really getting the bang for the buck.
Extra Info: RAM = 8 GB DDR3, Case = Cooler Master HAF X Full Tower, PSU = 950W
This is my current build. It was built about 3 years ago(?);
CPU: AMD Phenon II X6 1090T Processor: 6 Core @ 3.2 GHz
Motherboard: MSI 870A FUZION AM3 AMD 770
Graphics Card: EVGA Geforce GTX 470
This is my desired build;
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K Processor 3.5 GHz
Motherboard: Asus SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK 1 ATX LGA1150
Graphics Card: EVGA Geforce GTX 760
CPU: $235 from Amazon,
Motherboard:$239 after Amazon
Graphics Card: $280 after rebate from Microcenter
Total: $754
Would this be worth the upgrade?
Do I need more RAM than 8GB?
Would I be able to play Archeage on High with this build?
If I skip out anything, please let me know and I will answer it. Thanks for reading!
