PC Not Booting - Is it because I am missing my GPU???

Hi,

I have searched for a bit and tried various solutions, but I can't figure it out and apologize if it was some easy answer that I didn't see.

I have a Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 Mobo. I am using an AMD CPU. I had used it a few months ago to try and have some fun with a litecoin rig using just one GPU. Everything worked fine (well except the mining) but I was able to boot and use linux on a usb stick. But I put everything away and gave the GPU away. My mobo has an onboard GPU.

I am building a new pc and it won't boot. I get one beep which I read somewhere is related to the gpu.

But I tried other options first, moved ram around, booted without ram (several long beeps), even switched CPUs. Someone suggested flashing the bios, but I don't see how I can do anything if I can't get into the BIOS section (researching this at the moment).

I even pulled out all the various connectors except for power (I took out the hdd led light, etc, USB connections), just to minimize it to see if I could get it to boot.

Is there anything I can do? I am afraid it is because the mobo was set up to run off the GPU. I can't get into BIOS to reset it. Nothing is appearing on the monitor.

I hope I didn't ramble too much, just wanted to let you know what I have tried. And what is different than the last time when it did boot successfully. Thanks.

Solution
You probably need to clear the CMOS using the jumper found near your front panel connectors you can use a tool like a screwdriver against the pins for a few seconds (just a slight touch so they are connected electrically) to have your BIOS reset to its default values which should hopefully fix your problem.

Thanks so much. It was as simple as that. The only thing I did wrong was it booted to the screen and it gave an option of "Last Known Good" and the clock was ticking down and I left it at that option. So I had to redo it and then selected default.

But now I have an image on the monitor, so thanks!
