Dear Sir / Madam, I just got a Asus 31.5" 4K monitor PQ321Q. My PC is quite new (Intel Core i7-4770K and 16 GB) and has one AMD Radeon R9 290 (4 GB) and 2M displayport 1.2 certified wire from Accell is connected to the monitor. It was set to MST mode and restarted. However, on both AMD Catalyst Control Center and PC's screen resolution on desktop, it is shown that the resoultion is 3840x2160. However, in reality, it is 2560x1440, when I checked the resolution online. I have the updated driver from AMD. AMD Catalyst Control Center - Information - DisplayPort Diagnostics, the total bandwidth is 20.76Gbps and the bandwidth usage is 86%, which is equivalent to 8.9 Gbps each on both display at 43%. It is said taht Internal hub in use, 1920x2160 (75Hz) Max on both.

If you have some ideas what causes the problems, could you please kindly point me in the right direction. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Ricky

Here is my PC specification in details -

Solution
I would use a DVI cable as others cannot handle 4k like HDMI.
And also you could always create a custom resolution.http://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU

Sajid is misinformed. Your best option is DisplayPort 1.2. Be sure your cable is compliant and your drivers are set to 1.2. I was gaming on the 31 and dropped back to the 28. My peripherial vision is not that good I guess and things were getting lost on the 31. I sit with 20" from screen to eye.
Your setup is correct, you just need to choose 1.2 as your setup will default to 1.1 DisplayPort.
EDIT - you know you have to change the monitor in the OSD to 1.2? Called DisplayStream I think.
