Hello community!

Yesterday, I decide to upgrade from Win 8 to 8.1 and I realized today that it did not fix the constant crashes in Dead Rising 3. I then proceed to rollback my Nvidia 340.xx drivers to 332.xx. Upon deleting, I restarted, and at that point Windows was not able to boot up. I went through bios, bios boot loader, but after that, everything was black. No login Screen ***Specs*** i5-4670K 4.6GHZ OC w/ MSI GD65 Motherboard. Samsung EVO 120 GB SSD, Samsung 1TB Drive. Windows 8.1 Pro

Things that happen before this.
1. Installed win 8.1
2. Deleted my Nvidia Drivers (for gtx 770)
3. Installed Microsoft redist x64 and x86

I booted into Advance Start-up (Safe Mode) w/ and w/o networking with no problem.
Couple things that I tried with Safe Mode.
[x] System File Check - 100%
[x] delete my installed MS Redist x64 and x86
[x] Cleaned out Nvidia Drivers completely in every folder and registry
[x] Reinstalled 322.xx Nvidia Drivers
[x] Take out my GTX and used integrated GPU
[x] turn off all my Nvidia services, and most of my startup's
I figure if Safe Mode works, then it could be the Services, But I don't know which one I should stop. I don't want to mess things up.

I have tried Automatic Startup fix.
I've tried System Recovery. I get an error code 0x80070005. I made Hidden Files, and Operating Files visible. but I had a hard time unchecking the "Read Only" the "System Volume" folder in the root of c Drive. So it keep failing.

It takes so much hassle and painstakingly wasted time to get re install a new OS. I mean if worst come to worst, I will consider it, since I have my OS on my SSD, and my other stuff on my 1tb drive.

But before I give up, I want to know, if you guys have any more suggestion of things to try and different options that get windows back and running again.

Thank You so much guys! Looking forward to your answers.

Edit : TLDR: windows 8.1 won't boot, but safe mode works. Happen after deleting a driver. Need suggestions. TY!

Solution
You can do the repair from the advanced boot menu screen. It's the same screen you select safe mode from. Select the "repair your computer option"

I'm running a 64 Bit Windows. I have a MSI GTX 770 Twin Frozer. But I'm 90% sure that its not the card, because after I removed it and used the integrated GPU, I still have the same exact problem.

I cant do the Repair Install / In Place upgrade, since I am only stuck on Safe Mode

I end up just did a refresh and got a friend's window install. Works like a charm. So I guess if that wasn't my path, I would end up turning off all of my services and trial and error.

Thanks!

No problem. Glad it worked out for you. I would have recommended the refresh but since it seemed important to save your files I just thought you'd want to try the repair first. Quite often the repair doesn't work while the refresh and renew options usually, almost always do. Good luck to you.
