So I'm looking at doing a cross fire configuration (don't talk me out of it, I'm already aware of the advantages and disadvantages) and from a bit of research it would see them the r9 290 would be my best option seeing as how the 290x gives you little boost for $100 more

I've come across 2 cards that caught my eye

will refer to this one as card 1

from the looks of it on these pages

the vapor-x seems gives some really nice cooling and is pretty quiet (along with some other nifty perks like slight performance in editing and web browsing which I doubt I'll notice even though I edit)
my question is, is card 2's tech really as good as showing out to be? or is it truly not worth it? Being that my case wont be water cooled (should most likely look into it at this point) the vapor-x seems to be my best option for crossfire

More about : extra worth

Vaporx for the win toxic is no doubt fast but the vapor x is a mid mix of performance with good cooling. I go for the vapor x

There's not much difference between the tri-x and vapor-x. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iN2sXD43xH0

ok thank you for that video
so from the looks of it, performance isn't much of a shoot up, but that was expected. but I was worried more about cooling, seeing as how the vapor-x was 3-6C cooler that didnt seem like too much of a big deal, but after converting it 37-42F cooler seems like one hell of a difference
so final question, is that a big enough leap to care? or should I jsut not worry about it? because for the most part what comes down to it is 2fps and 3-6 degrees cooler which may be a huge difference in the long run especially if I dont upgrade for a long time because I wont have to

How do you get 37-42F cooler from 3-6C? 3-6C difference is about 5 -10F difference. Its no biggie.

me being lazy and not wanting to do the equation myself. The converter I used clearly gave a wrong answer, not sure why I just wnt with it
oh well, anyways thank you for the help, im not going to burn $50 on a vapor even though I think it looks better, its not $50 better, thats a new game
