Hello I have a problem with my ram. I used to have 2x2gb ram and it used only 3.18gb so it wasn't that of a big deal, but now I wanted to get something more powerful so I bought 2x4gb ram, I added it into my pc but it still shows 3.18gb usable. Could someone help me to fix this problem.
I have - 64bit windows 7 ultimate
My Motherboard - Foxconn H55MXV

I'll tell you what i did. First of I Shut down my pc and removed the second ram stick, then I booted up the computer and looked does it recognize more ram but it only said "Inserted memory (RAM): 4,00 GB (3,18 GB usable)". So i closed the pc and moved the first stick into the second slot, booted up the computer and again it said "Inserted memory (RAM): 4,00 GB (3,18 GB usable)". Then I closed the pc, removed the first stick from slot 2 and inserted stick 2 into slot 1, booted up the pc and again is said "Inserted memory (RAM): 4,00 GB (3,18 GB usable)". Closed the pc again and moved stick 2 into slot 2, and then strange thing happened the pc didnt open, there was no contact between the computer and the screen. So I inserted the 2 stick and put it into the first slot, and inserted the first stick into the 2 slot, when i booted up the pc looked at the Computer > Properties, it said "Inserted memory (RAM): 8,00 GB (3,18 GB usable)". So I'm not sure what to do now.

With partnrs if you can?
Try cpu-z->spd tab for this with each stick if you have to or do this,

Download the next program,
http://www.hwinfo.com/download32.html
open it,click run, close the top window which is the system summary, click save report at the left top,in the next window at the bottom check=dot "short text report" after that next, you'll get to see what is in your pc,copy that by clicking "copy to clipboard" and right click and paste in you next post.

Looked again and found this,

You bought these as single sticks? Sometimes they don't don't play well together as Tradesman1 likes to call it. Can you up the voltage for the ram by 0.05,so from for instance 1.5V->1.55V? See how that works out.

In the task manager, what does it say, when looking at the ram, about "hardware reserved"?

No I didn't bought them seperatly, it came out in the same package just 2 sticks of 4 gb ram each. And I'll try to change the voltage tomorow, now its late so i have to go to sleep.

Oh wow I think I fixed it, because when I go to Computer > Properties it says "Installed memory (RAM): 8,00 GB" and there is no line saying 3,18 usable. I did it by going to Bios > Advanced Chipset Features > Memory Remap Feature I set it to enable (It was Disabled BY default). Then I saved lauched my pc and it was working. Thanks for your help guys, without you i couldnt have found the solution. Thanks :)
