hey all,

(i7 4790k @ 4.3 autoclocked by my msi motherboard, bios default settings)

I asked it at the beginning if my temps where to high. I have a core temp of max 61 dergrees after playing titanfall on ultra for about two and a half hours. When i play metro redux, it stays after an hour on 62 degrees.
My package temp is 61 degrees.
I'm really worried about my temps being to high. Does anybody know if these are safe temps or not?

I have a 212 evo cooler on it.

thanks

Solution
Not at all... you are doing very well with those temps... I went through what your going through and you have nothing to worry about at those temps... under 70 degrees is good all day long.
The temps are totally safe, 72C is the max recommended, anything below that will not give any sort of problems and is completely fine. I hope you've check the CPU usage too, what does it say? If you're above 70% usage while you were gaming at those temps, then those temps are completely alright :)

The core temps are max 61 degrees, the package temps also after playing for about two hours. Im reading those temps from hwmonitor and realtemp.

I thinks those games demand above 50% because i also have my mediamonkey on and some other programs

Pretty good temps for your cooler. If you can go for a H100i or similar AIO watercooler you would get a bit better especially at the higher end. Also depends on what your ambient temps are to begin with.

Have same setup except for H100i and in games do not go over 50's and in prime95, Aida64 and Intelburn never goes above 63 degrees at 4.4Ghz 100%.

Well my embient temps are a bit hot. It's above 20 degrees for sure so i think 25 or something that way.
So i don't have to be afraid for destroying my cpu???

Can you give the cpu/case/package temnps from your mobo buios uefi?

My bios only says the cpu temp is 43 degrees and my motherboard 36 degrees. I can say that my ambient temps are somewhat high.

That should be fine... looks good to me..though as a noob could be wrong. i7 Baby should be able to validate

Not underpants but shorts and a T-Shirt at your ambient... here it is 22 degrees

I just played metro 2033 redux on ultra, 2 hours straight with downloading in the background. All my temps, core and package dont go beyond 66 degrees.

somebody knows if the default msi z97 settings are okay? or do i have to enable powersave features?
