Greetings once again,

I'm planning on building a LAN pc with this case http://www.bitfenix.com/global/en/products/chassis/prodigy/ as it is very attractive.
So, I would love to have suggestions on the build. Preferable a build less than £1200. Also, is it possible to run SLI in it?

Thanks!

More info would be useful - sticky

Few general points -

  • ■ You can't SLI in a Prodigy because it's ITX motherboards only (though you can run multi-GPU cards).
    ■ There is a mATX Prodigy (Prodigy M) which you can SLI in. You shouldn't. It's got a pretty rubbish design/layout.
    ■ For a portable build, a Prodigy isn't terribly good. It's quite big overall, very wide, and the handles don't really make it easy to lift. Compare that to something like a 380T, which is still big but has a handle you can actually use.

I like the prodigy, I dont use the handles as my specific build is heavy. I hold it from underneath to be safe.
No sli in this case as Mr Rammy previously mentioned
As far as parts go
You have to get a mini itx motherboard which usually have a limit of around 16gb max ram
A power supply will have to fit but you can use motherboard stand offs to extend the bay.
Most likely you will loose some har drive bays due to graphics card size and I wood suggest the 230mm fan for the front they are quiet and mover heaps of air.
Specific components I can give you from new egg or something similar of you would like

Cheers

The graphics card Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 Gaming 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card - other brands avalible or you could get a gtx 780ti for a similar price
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-147-GI

Then the power supply something like this evga 600w power sypply will be good but you would need to check the length of it - if a power supply doesn't fit exactly you can use motherboard standoffs to give you extra room. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-008-EA&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2463

You could also have an ssd and hdd
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-168-SA
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-255-SE
I would also chuck some money at cooling
A 230mm fan in the front and a couple of others would be good
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FG-025-BX
And maybe a better cpu cooler

Price around £1,048.82 including shipping
Sorry if it is brief it takes to long on my phone to write this all out.

Cheers any questions just ask
