My laptop fell on the floor after which my hard drive is not functioning properly. It make noise of ticking and sometime beep. When i started my laptop it started giving me "GRUB rescue" problem.
I took out the hard disk out of my laptop and attached it externally. It got detected but the drives did not showed up. I opened Disk Management in Windows and got my Drive Unallocated. Option of initializing the Hard Drive was available so i chose GPT option to initialize it. "Device not ready" dialog appeared. I rebooted my System and opened Disk Management again. The drive was already initialized and was still unallocated. I tried to make New Simple Volume but computed told me that due to I/O problem volume could not be created.
I also tried WD software but it failed.
So, what should I do to regain access to my hard disk. I have no problem in erasing my data.
Model of Hard Drive: WD3200BPVT - 75JJ5T0
Size = 320 GB
