Go into bios and disable secure boot. This doesn't allow any hardware changes for "security" reasons. You may also need to try legacy mode.

I have tried just about everything.... I hope you are up for a challenge?

-reset cmos both in bios and by battery removal
-looked for update bios from gateway...none avail only P01-A1
-there are no options for legacy boot or safe boot, and no way to disable the on board from there.
-ms config doesnt seem to change anything
-board is working fine .....tested and checks fine on an emachine of all things lol
-and it is on a windows 7 os...... does that have UEIF? if so maybe that might be the issue?

so in a recap with the asus gtx 750ti installed and powered by the pcie 6 pin the system will boot and hang on the startup screen.
with it installed and no pcie power it will show up in the device manager but has a code 12 no resources available. I can only assume the onboard is using the same I/O address? Gateway says it is not their issue asus says the same but with a tested / workng board there has to be a issue in a setting somewhere ...... my specs are below......any insight is appreciated... thank you

Uefi deals with the mobo not windows. I bring this up as some new cards have issues with non uefi mobos. Just to make sure but you do have just 1 monitor plugged into the graphics card and no others plugged in anywhere else and this causes a hang?

Yes i have only 1 monitor plugged in and the board is an acer make i havenet found any reference to Uefi.
The system will beep once at start up then will not move beyond the press del for bios / f12 for bool screen.

Do you have another pc or a friend's that you could test the card in? Or an old card to put in yours? It might just be a uefi issue.

Yes, I had another pc it was windows Vista and it ran just fine. I used to have a smaller graphics card for 2 monitors that did not need a 6 pin power and it worked fine.

So you know the 750ti works and you know the mobo pcie slot is fine. So I can only assume uefi is the issue.

Look for a non eufi vbios and flash the graphics card. Not sure if that even exists. Or get a different gpu that is non uefi compatible. Easier to stick with amd.
