pc upgrade or start again

This is my current pc. Should I upgrade parts or start again. Only ever changed graphic card so pc novice
Amd fx4100 black edition
Coolermaster hyper tx3
Windows 7
Asus m5a78l- m lx v2
2x4 gb corsair 1600mhz vengeance
500gb satalll 6.0gb
Nvidia gtx 660
Piano black atx case
500w xigmatek
Any advice appreciated thanks

Yes try the AMD FX-8150 which will not even require a new motherboard or PSU.

Edit: Now that I look at it it has 2X the cores but actually has the same clock rate so hold on that thought of getting a new CPU. It will certainly come of great help to have 8 cores, though, and probably as more transistors. What is causing you to wan to upgrade?

Looking at buying these upgrades in future. Can anyone confirm if good choices.
Amd-fx6350 -£96.95
Gigabyte 970a-ud3p - £71.51
Corsair cx750 builder series bronze psu-£59.98 (I know this might be higher than needed but thought about future)

I picked this motherboard because of optical output for connection to onkyo surround sound system.
