My windows 7 dell continues checking for updates forever. I have already checked for malware, spyware and virus without any results. What should i do?

Personally I choose "or check and let me choose which to download" that way you have power of what you want to update. For the most part updates won't make but break your OS in the first place. The most essential updates are related to your security or if a new version of framework is out or DX.
