After over clocking my CPU when I turn on my computer it turns on for a brief second then turns off and then finally boots the system. When the CPU is at stock it is fine. Does anybody know the cause of this?

Hi there, I seem to have narrowed down what the problem is it's to do with core performance boost and when it's disabled and the CPU multiplier is set to manual it performs this boot, I've put my over clock settings at a safe 4.3ghz. I've also read somewhere that to solve the problem you have to match the core boost multiplier with the CPU multiplier and that has worked but can you or anybody confirm if this would degrade CPU performance at all?

I never did and I don't remember it was ever needed just for CPU overclocking. It might be needed for overall system overclocking but it always brought with it instability.

Also for CPU voltage, make sure to discover (by trial and error and testing) lowest stable overclock voltage to keep the CPU running cooler and prolong its lifespan under overclock.

Oh that's good to know then thank you! damn YouTube guides -.- and yeah I've done about an hour/ 2 hours worth of stress testing and it runs really cool at this over clock think I've found the sweet spot :)
