Hello everyone.

I am currently running:

ROG Maximus VII Hero
Intel I7 4770k
128gb SSD boot
16gb Ram
Nvidia Geforce GTX 770

I currently use the ASUS PB278Q monitor at 1440p resolution 60hz.

I am going to be playing ArcheAge heavily. I am debating upgrading from my GTX770 to a GTX780ti.

Is this a good move in terms of gaming performance considering my monitor and game, or is this just a waste of money at this time?

Thanks.

The 780 Ti would be the best choice for 1440p. It will handle the higher resolution much better and offer reasonably better performance on ArcheAge and all other games.

Here is a short comparison for the two:

Both are excellent cards but the GTX 780 Ti is superior. If budget is an issue than the 770 will suite your needs adequately.

Budget is not an issue really, but I don't want to waste money either if the performance is just slightly better gaming overall, and in ArcheAge.

If 770 prices drop, you could always pick up another one for a SLI setup. Two 770s in a setup still make for a good contender when it comes to performance as they scale so well. I would wait for benchmarks to come out for the 900 series cards that are going to be shown on the 19th as it is so close. However, if you decide that you need something NOW, the 780ti is a beast of a frigging card that would suit your needs great.

What sort of settings are you playing on now for the game?

With the recent price drop for the GTX 770, $550 for a pair in SLI is a pretty good deal.
