What is your budget?

Have you tried reducing your graphical settings to medium and see if the drop in frames still persist?

What game is giving you issues? It might just be the game itself. Sometimes it's poorly coded and optimized so a better graphics card could remedy that issue. Give me a little more info.

What games are causing the fps drops when the environment gets crowded?

What settings do you use for that particular game?

Do you have the most updated drivers for your specific video card? And if you do is the software itself the issue (meaning that bugs might exist within that particular build of the software and downgrading might help you)

NVIDIA GT 545 1.5gb is just a slow card I misunderstood his budget I believe.

His PC has one of these 2 supplies.
280W or 450W the user will need to pop the case to determine which one.

The 450W version normally ships with a GTX 460 or HD 5750.

If he is running a 280W supply he should replace it with a 450W or better that would allow him to use a R7-260X for ~$90 or 750TI for ~$150 becuase of case limitations cards larger than these will be impossible.

R7 260x for 90 $
Gtx 750 for 100 $
Gtx 750 ti for 130 $
R7 265 for 150 $
R7 270 for 170 $...

I suggest you the r7 265...

I personally recommend a GTX 760, Great perfomance and is very cheap for that performance. Costs around 250 depending on the model.

looks like your power supply is pretty limited. I would personally go with GTX 750 Ti; high output per power ratio, works great for me on max settings in skyrim.

the thing that amazes me the most is... it doesn't need a 6-pin power supply ^^ or at least for MSi's version.

OEM case you will not fit a card that big inside it, A 750TI would work great but a new power supply might still be needed.

You could always get the zotac version, you give nothing up in perfomance and its very small. Currently on amazon it is 215 dollars.
